Issue 5: “Schrodinger’s House” by Christina Tang-Bernas

Schrodinger’s House

Schrodinger’s cat is
full-dead and full-alive
he’s not sure which
at any point in time
until he finds her
wallowing in beams of sunlight
filtered through filmy curtains
as the simultaneous duality
of particles and waves
ripples through her
a quantum superposition
of infinite possibilities
but only when unseen
as Schrodinger’s lost sock is
In the laundry room
Frozen at the summit of Everest
Floating past Nebula NGC 6543
All the wheres until the when
When Schrodinger locates the errant sock
Possibilities coalescing, trapped
Beneath the velvet paw of his cat
Who has decided to be full-alive
For now.
